We did not have a lot of free time at Chengelo, our days tended to be very full, weekends were really the only time where we got a lot of time to ourselves. And even when we did have time to ourselves there were always things to be done like washing socks or tidying up our dorms in preparation for the next inspection.
There were several activites which we were able(or made to!) to participate in during the week. Some of these included clubs, sport, discipleship groups, celebration and various weekend activities amongst other things.
Outdoor activities were a huge part of the focus at Chengelo. All students were expected to play a sport 2 afternoons a week. There was a large range of sports available to play ranging from swimming to callenetics to rugby amongst many others.
Clubs were run one afternoon a week, I think that while I was there at some stage they were compulsary. I recall being involved in the guitar club but there were many others.
When we weren't having structured 'free time' there was a variety of things we were allowed to do. Sundays were the least structured day and in effect we were free to do what we liked all day apart from letter-writing which was at 10:30am which was compulsary (as were all meals). I recall fondly many lazy Sunday afternoons relaxing by the pool, with music, friends and possibly some treasured 'tuck'(food from home).
